Some people just need shootin'.
When a girl turns up at their office, young private investigator, Vulgar Pluck, and his enigmatic and arthritic boss, Emma Speel, agree to take her case. And find themselves caught up in an unholy mess. Femme Deckard wants them to find the gun that was used to kill her brother.
But Femme isn’t giving them the whole story, and following the leads brings the investigators into conflict with a gun-nut, a mysterious Harley-riding pale-skinned cowboy, a group of manic Satanists, a powerful arms manufacturer and an eerie Jamaican gangster, most of whom are looking for either Femme’s gun or a missing quantum physicist – or both.
By the time Pluck and Speel realize what they’ve got tangled up in, they’re too caught up to get out. They are pieces in a frightening game, played by ruthless and malevolent forces. Suddenly, solving the case is the least of their worries . . .
